The root of tznius is pโnimiyus, internality. Tznius means being internally focused and determining oneโs conduct solely by spiritual intent; maintaining the inherent value of what is good and pure. Someone who serves Hashem with tznius will not allow external factors such as personal and physical feelings to dictate their behaviorsโฆ
Tznius, walking in privacy with Hashem aloneโimpervious to external impactโensures achievement in all areas of avodas Hashem, and guards its sanctity in the embrace of commitment to the spiritual goal alone.
In the metaphor of ืฉืืจ ืืฉืืจืื, even ืืืื ืืชื ืชื ืืืืื ืฉืืืช ืืื there is a place for ืฆื ืืขืืช:

One who is led by tznius says, โIt is enough for me that Hashem knows the good deed I performedโ and forgoes any desire to broadcast the success for public acclaim.
And thatโs the way Malbim understands Michah (and I would understand our perek): ืฆื ืืขืืช means not showing off how religious you are. ืืฆืืืช are not to gain status.
